Southern Straits 2024

The The 2024 Southern Staits Regatta was an electrifying showcase of competitive sailing, bringing together skilled sailors and breathtaking views of the coast of British Columbia. Organized by West Vancouver Yacht Club,, participants were navigating challenging conditions across several categories. With the sport and short course division boats battling shifty windy and strong back-eddy current systems, whilst the medium and long distance divisions had a mixture of rough sea states and high winds, to flat water and no wind in the early morning hours. 

Torok Media was on site capturing the excitement and artistry of the event with cutting edge equipment and creative vision. From dynamic aerial footage of yachts slicing through the waves to up-close photography highlighting the determination of the crews. We stived to bring the action to life showcasing both technical skill of the sailors and the natural beauty of the region.
